Kick-off webinar COVIDCAS

On Saturday, 19th of June, 2021, Curacao Biomedical & Health Research Institute (CBHRI) launched a new project named COVIDCAS.
COVIDCAS is a ZonMW funded research project dealing with the impact of COVID-19 measures on vulnerable families in Curacao, Aruba and Sint Martin.

Dengue virus in travel medicine and vaccines

The dengue virus remains a significant global health concern, with over 14 million cases and more than 10,000 related deaths reported worldwide in 2024, according to data from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).

Renowned virologist Dr. Byron Martina has conducted extensive research on flavivirus pathogenesis in both humans and animal models, contributing greatly to the field. Additionally, Professor Annelies Wilder-Smith, a highly cited expert in dengue and travel medicine, continues to lead advancements in understanding and combating this disease.
